Fiction Book
The moment the author chose a book as a medium to express his/ her story, the narrative moves from private to public domain. The artist, who has selected printed media as his/her expressive tool, is conscious of the foundational truth from which the book originates. ‘Fiction Book’ is an attempt to observe the attributes of books that secure the truth. The ‘Fiction Book’ is 16 pages-long. The book describes the story of a man aged 33. All the texts are printed in black on ‘black sheets’ and white on the ‘white sheets’. The reader only encounters the most pure form of white and black papers.

Circle Ratio
The book is a medium with unpredictable ending. Books can comprise every imaginable stories of world, technically or physically. Indeed, this may sound impossible. However, Jorge L. Borges was charmed with the characteristic of books to represent extraordinaire stories, and its charm has to do with the belief that book is absorbable of all stories. On the other hand, as a contrast with the book, circle ratio is endless. The 2nd brochure of project ‘Map Gu Insoo’, ‘Circle Ratio’, declares that it contains the circle ratio within the boundaries of 16 pages. Of course, this is a fake. But wouldn’t the reader of ‘Circle Ratio’ imagine a telescope that can observe the end of cosmos? The book is an attempt to place itself between the long, slender parallel line of two concepts: the infinite circle ratio and the belief about books.

Gravity of the Book
Everyone has an experience of sharing a book when they were in school-days. Sharing books meant a sacred ceremony for me. No books remain in one’s hands for ever. These photographs show the people who digest the incomprehensive book in their own ways. At the same time, ‘Gravity of the Book’ shows the simple fact that equitably, every book falls to the ground either way.

Price
The price of the Ethic Book is 10, equally all over the world. The idea was taken from the means of communication in Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysia and Singapore have large economic differences. They have different currency values at the same time. 1 Singapore dollar can be exchanged to 600 won, whereas 1 ringgit in Malaysia is exchanged to 250 won. But Malaysia earmarked the prices of bus and train that comes from Singapore as equal costs. This disposal is means to gain foreign currencies. We believe that different values of currency could be reasonably exchanged by the rate of currency. But such rationality is inexistent. As a result, the price of transportation is 7,000 won from Malaysia to Singapore, while the opposite direction costs 20,000 won. The more the country is underdeveloped, the more the products of global companies become relatively expensive. For example, a bottle of coke is bought in cheap value in the U.S., whereas the people of outback village in Amazon have to work all day to afford it. As you can see, the rate of exchange, which is considered true and fair, is a fragile fiction created by the flow of currency and the world system. Products all over the world are calculated, and prices are fixed by dollars - like McDonald’s that fix the price of hamburgers through market research, and expand the number of stores. The unification of currency rate implies the imperialistic expansion of capitalism. The unification of price of the Ethic Book reveals the fabricated currency rate.
